Wood for Office base

The wood has turned up this evening for the office base. Too late to be using the saw tonight but first thing tomorrow I’ll be on with it with the help of my little girl.

Model Engine Clamp

I’ve been looking for one of these for quite a while now. Finally found one online and I’m chuffed to bits with it. Having a clamp like this for doing intricate add ons for engines and tricky components is a must. £10, bargain. Can’t wait to use it. Made by a company called Neilsen, it has a solid steel base and lightweight metals but very sturdy. (Looks a lot heavier than it looks). Loads of removable pins too for positioning and a expandable clamp section.

RENAULT RE20 ITALERI

I made one of these 15-20 years ago but it was a Tamiya version. I was sceptical about building another kit that wasn’t Tamiya, MFH or FUJIMI but I’m pleasantly gobsmacked at the quality of this kit. In fact I’m very surprised and impressed. There are obvious differences to the Tamiya version but not many. I cannot wait to get to this kit. I will be leaving this one for the future but I’ll be using this kit as a show piece based on my lathe and mill work. A lot of the components will be made from brass and other metals. The reason for getting this kit was for the base components and panels. Purchased in a bidding scenario on eBay allowed me to buy this kit under £100. Most 1:12 kits at the present online are being advertised at some ridiculous prices. I get why but not so sure people realise that the prices they are asking are somewhat ridiculous. However that aside I’ve had a good look at the plastic parts and I’m very impressed. This will be my first Italeri kit ever attempted so I’m looking forward to it. Watch this space I will try to do this care some serious justice.

Preview of Ebook layout

Above is a little preview taster for those who are interested in seeing what the book layout will look like. All the pages are complete however choosing the images and putting them in the correct place is proving difficult. I’m trying very hard to make this as bespoke and as simple as possible and not using any other references for influence. Please let me know what you think so far i’d love some feedback via email.
